The Feedstock & Substrate Types section allows you to manage the primary categories used to classify your feed materials and substrates (such as dry feeds, moisture sources, or protein supplements).
Overview of Feedstock Types Features #
The list provides a structured overview of your categories:
- Type Name: Displays the name of the feedstock category (e.g., Dry Feed / Base Substrate, Wet Feed / Moisture Source, Protein Supplement).
- Description: Details the purpose or examples of what fits into the category.
- Actions: Edit and delete controls available for custom types.
Filtering and Sorting Types #
- Search: Use the search bar to filter categories by name or description.
- Sorting: Use the sort options (Newest, Oldest, or Name) to organize the list.
Creating or Editing a Feedstock Type #
To add a new category or modify an existing custom type:
- Open the Modal:
- Click the floating
+(FAB) button in the bottom right corner to add a new feedstock type. - Alternatively, click the pencil (edit icon) on any custom row to update it.
- Click the floating
- Fill in Details:
- Name: Enter a clear category name.
- Description: Add optional details explaining what kinds of feed belong in this category.
- Save:
- Click Save to store the feedstock type in the system.
Deleting a Feedstock Type #
- Click the trash can icon on any custom row to open the deletion confirmation dialog, then confirm to delete it.
- Note: System default feedstock types cannot be edited or deleted to preserve core facility settings.
