Integrations Settings #
The Integrations settings module allows you to connect BioStack with external home automation and messaging platforms, specifically Home Assistant and MQTT, enabling real-time telemetry and equipment control across your facility.
Overview of Integration Modules #
The integration settings panel provides dedicated configuration cards for external services:
- Home Assistant: Connects BioStack directly to your Home Assistant instance for entity tracking and automation triggers.
- MQTT: Configures message broker connections for telemetry data streaming and sensor communication.
Configuring Home Assistant #
To link BioStack with Home Assistant:
- Toggle Active Status: Switch the Active toggle to enable or disable the Home Assistant integration.
- Enter Server URL: Input your Home Assistant base URL in the URL field (e.g.,
[http://homeassistant.local:8123](http://homeassistant.local:8123)). - Provide Access Token: Enter a long-lived access token in the Long-Lived Access Token field for secure authentication.
- Test Connection: Click the Test HA Connection 🔌 button to verify that BioStack can successfully communicate with your instance.
Configuring MQTT #
To set up an MQTT broker connection:
- Toggle Active Status: Switch the Active toggle to enable or disable the MQTT integration.
- Enter Broker URL: Input the broker address in the URL field (e.g.,
mqtt://your-broker-url). - Authentication: Enter the required credentials in the User and Password fields.
- Test Connection: Click the Test MQTT Connection 🔌 button to validate your broker settings.
Saving Changes #
- Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen to store all updated integration preferences and credentials to your account.
Note: The Integrations module requires a Pro license tier or higher to access across your facility.
